Agua shower mixer
An Agua shower mixer is engineered as a single‑lever, wall‑mounted mixing valve designed to regulate both temperature and flow through a compact internal cartridge system. Most comparable NZ‑market Agua units utilise a 40 mm ceramic disc cartridge, selected for its high durability, low‑torque actuation, and resistance to thermal cycling and mineral wear. The mixer body is typically manufactured from DR brass or solid brass, ensuring corrosion resistance and compliance with NZ plumbing standards for potable water. Faceplates and handles are commonly produced in stainless steel or electroplated brass, with finishes such as chrome, matte black, brushed nickel, or gunmetal.
Hydraulically, these mixers are designed to operate across all pressure systems, including low/unequal pressure and mains pressure, depending on the model. Many NZ‑assembled units are pressure‑tested individually, with operational pressure ranges commonly around 35–600 kPa and maximum temperature ratings up to 80 °C. Installation typically requires a 46–80 mm hole diameter, ½" BSP male inlets/outlets, and a minimum backset of around 50 mm.
